It has become quite clear to me that iTunes was never intended for a windows platform and apple have no interest in fixing it up and making it any better... The application is so slow and annoying... What pains me the most is that I like to sync my iphone regularly when I'm at the office so everytime I'm at my desk, i'll plug it into the USB cable and let it sync... What a nightmare!  especially when I'm just starting the laptop up and I plug it in... iTunes consumes every bloody resource on the laptop and startup, which normally takes 3-5 minutes no takes 10-15 minutes... And the worst part is that once you've plugged it in, you realise "oh sh1t, I've just initiated iTunes again..." and set yourself up for the long wait that: a) it takes iTunes just to startup b) how it renders the rest of the system completely unresponsive Here we are bashing windows for years and years because I thought they did silly things... How wrong I was, they are so far advan...

Calendar Synchronisation

18. Here is something very strange and odd... I had an annual calendar appointment pop up on my iPhone this morning warning about an upcoming event.  As I no longer participated in this event, I deleted the calendar item and select "All future events".  I have come to work today and synchronised my phone with my laptop only to find that iTunes has re-added the recurring event back into my iPhone... HELLO!!!! I deleted because I no longer wanted it... Why re-add it... So I thought, ok another iPhone inefficiency that they've overlooked, I'll delete it from my calendar in Outlook and you wouldn't believe it, it was not there... SO, iTunes has obviously check my iPhone, noted that the event was deleted, checked my Outlook, noted that the event was present, added the event to my iPhone and then deleted it from my Outlook?????? Say What????? Even I'm confused... but even more confusing is how much more difficult it would have surely been to program it that way...

14 things I dislike about the Apple iPhone

Wanted to post my thoughts on the product for others to comment on and hopefully Apple to read and put on the dev list for future development. I tried to submit this into the Apple forums but they removed it almost immediately saying this stuff wasn't in line with the forum... Basically, they don't want to know about it... So I thought I'd put it here... Let me start by saying that the Apple iPhone is a fantastic looking product! No question, and usability is also fantastic... Again, Apple have produced a product like nothing else, they have broken the mould and done something very different - I love it! I especially love the way you move between and zoom in on pages...Just sliding the finger was a fantastic innovation. Unfortunately, there is some functionality missing that is quite disappointing when you consider how advanced the rest of the design and usability is... While you can operate without this functionality, it would just make using the device so much easier ...
